Foreword

      Technical University of Košice, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Branch Office of Slovak Metallurgical Society at Faculty of Metallurgy of Technical University of Košice host the 5th international conference under the auspices of the rector of Technical University in Košice Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Anton Čižmár, CSc:

5th International Conference on Modelling of Mechanical and Mechatronic Systems, MMaMS 2012, 5-8 November 2012, Hotel Poštár, Zemplínska Šírava, Slovakia

      Conference aims and scope was:
      • modelling and simulation of mechanical, mechatronic and biomechanical systems,
      • design of mechanical, mechatronic, biomechanical and robotic systems,
      • experimental methods in mechanics, electronic, mechatronics, biomechanics and robotics.

      Selection and/or peer-review under responsibility of the Branch Office of Slovak Metallurgical Society at Faculty of Metallurgy and Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Technical University of Košice. The Guest Editor was, on behalf of the organizer, select the contributions, the review and editing of the manuscript and the arrangement of the papers for publication. Each paper was reviewed by 3 reviewers.

    Ratio between accepted papers and submitted papers was 23,8%. A lot of papers were rejected for low scientific quality or plagiarism was detected. Finally 97 papers was accepted for publishing in Procedia Engineering vol. 48 (2012) ISSN 1877-7058.
